General History
Formed in 1996 in Agoura Hills, California, Linkin Park initially struggled to achieve success until they signed to a major label in 1999. The next year, they had an instant hit with their debut, “Hybrid Theory,” which introduced the world to their mix of metal, rap metal, alternative metal , and rock. They hit peak popularity in the early 2000s with Hybrid Theory and Reanimation. Singles such as “Crawling” and “One Step Closer” established themselves as staples among alternative rock radio playlists during the year, and “In the End” peaked at #2 on the US Billboard Hot 100, the band’s highest to date.
Brand Identity
For the remastering of Linkin Park albums in honor of Chester Bennington's 50th birthday, a cyber core aesthetic was chosen, resonating with the band's innovative and tech-infused music. Incorporating shades of blue, silver, and black not only pays homage to Linkin Park's iconic visuals but also evokes a futuristic and edgy vibe. This aesthetic aligns well with the band's pioneering blend of rock, metal, and electronic elements, which often explored themes of technology, identity, and inner turmoil. By using these colors and design elements, the remastered albums visually capture the essence of Linkin Park's music and legacy, creating a timeless tribute to Chester Bennington's enduring impact on music and culture.
